6 Things You Can Leave In a Hot Car
Not babies or pets. Ever.
It was a fluke that I discovered how hot cars in the summer can improve things we eat.
My doctor’s office has a big sign on the door that says “No Food or Beverages Allowed”. I read this as I was holding my fresh, hot, delicious cup of coffee.
It was a dilemma. Do I break the rules so my coffee doesn’t get cold and stale, or obey their request (actually it was a demand) that I go back to the car and put my coffee cup in the cup holder? I did the right thing, whimpered a little and walked inside without my cup.
I took a sip of my coffee in the car an hour later. To my surprise, it was like time stood still! My coffee was hotter than it was when I left the house, and it tasted as delicious as it did when I arrived for my appointment. The outside temperature was 85°F outside without a cloud in sight. Apparently the temperature inside the car was above 110°F.
The next thing I discovered by accident was Skittles. There was a bag of them in my car’s console that I forgot about. I found them when I was cleaning out my car on a hot summer day. “Oh good, a snack!” I opened the bag and was amazed at how soft and flavorful they were. They tasted better than ever.
