I watched a documentary about the Naovaratpong family from Thailand. Their almost three-year old daughter died from brain cancer. Her brain and head were immediately deep frozen and transported to Alcor, a company in Arizona that specializes in cryogenics.

I put myself in Einz Naovaratpong’s parents’ shoes. Their daughter suffered from a rare and fatal form of brain cancer that nobody has ever survived. She had an 11 inch tumor in her brain! Doctors managed to remove half of it, but weren’t optimistic about Einz’s chances of recovery because ependymoblastoma is very aggressive and won’t go away. After enduring 10 surgeries, 12 rounds of chemotherapy, 20 radiation treatments, Einz died before she was three years old.

Einz was conceived through invitro fertilization. I can’t imagine what her mother was going through when she knew she was losing Einz forever. Einz’s father was a scientist. He talked to his wife about cryogenics. Einz’s brain and head would be frozen until the time came when they would be placed in a regenerated new body. What other choice did they have besides saying goodbye to their precious daughter?

Now, her brain and head are cryogenically stored at Alcor. According to their website:
