Why is writing so difficult?

“Go ahead,” they said. “Write about things you know on Medium. It will be lots of fun!” Who came up with these words of wisdom in the first place?
Adulthood was uneventful for me. My sense of humor is wickedly warped. I started making a list of topics I know about, but I don’t think they’re interesting enough for people to read what I’ve written.
