I thought I was doomed to weigh 165.7 pounds forever.

If you Google the term “Stress Eater,” my picture will be first in the search results. When I married my husband in November, 2011, I weighed 128 pounds. That was a good weight for me. My clothes fit and I wasn’t flabby. I wore blue jeans most of the time. All my life, my jeans were the indicator that it was time to knock off the junk food. How? When I struggled to pull up my jeans’ zipper, it was time to cut back.

Two months after our wedding day, my husband was in a motorcycle that resulted in a severe Traumatic Brain Injury and a 21 day coma. I relied on family, friends, and food for comfort. I mentioned how I lived in my jeans 24/7 to my sister-in-law, and they were getting tighter. My main focus was my husband in the hospital’s trauma center. My health and personal problems didn’t matter. All I wanted was for him to wake up and come home.

That’s when my sister-in-law told me about Women’s Danskin High-Waisted Yoga Pants. She said she wore them all the time, and they were the most comfortable pants she ever wore. I should have remembered that she has a metabolism that most people would kill for. She can pound down ice cream, cake, cookies, and other junk food without gaining an ounce. I was secretly jealous of her.
