Lists For A Happy Life

Lists. I avoided making them and using them. I was famous for making shopping lists and forgetting to take them to the store. As far as I was concerned, writing lists was a waste of time.
Times have changed. We need more than grocery and To Do lists. We need lists to mentally take us to our happy place.
1. Make a list of what you’re grateful for.
This was one of the first things my therapist asked me to do. Sit down in a quiet place. Make sure the TV is off and you have no distractions. Maybe you’re grateful for your family, friends, pets or your job. Don’t be afraid to name them. When you look back at this list, it’ll make you smile.
2. Make a list of your favorite memories.
Reading this list after you’ve written it will be particularly helpful when you’re down in the dumps. Or your memories start to fade. Either way, it’s a win!
3. Make a list of your accomplishments.
This one helps to build your self esteem. Even washing the car is an accomplishment. Write it down!
4. Make a list of ways to organize your home.
This will probably be a never-ending list. Once you complete the items on your list, pat yourself on the back, kick back and watch a favorite movie.
