My Daughter Won’t Get the Covid-19 Vaccine or Wear a Mask

She says it’s her right. I say it’s her responsibility.

My oldest daughter doesn’t believe in the pandemic. Therefore, she refuses to wear a mask or get the Covid vaccine.

My mom, her grandmother, was infected with Covid-19 in December 2020. Mom only had half of the symptoms and passed away ten days later, on December 15, 2020. Travel restrictions didn’t allow me to travel from Florida to Pennsylvania to the cemetery when Mom was buried.

Thankfully, both of my daughters were there and said goodbye to Mom at the cemetery. The vaccine was available a few weeks later. Mom would have been a prime candidate for it.

I wonder if my daughter knew how sick Mom was, struggling to breathe. Would it have been enough for her to consider getting vaccinated? Or did she think, “Grandma was old. She probably would have died, anyway.”

She’s blowing up my Facebook Messenger inbox. I won’t dignify her messages with links to them.

  • “A pathologist summary of what these jabs do to the brain and other organs.”
  • A video conspiracy theory that calls the “Plandemic” the brainchild of Dr. Fauci. “Wow!!!! Literally summed up the Plandemic and who’s behind it in 1 min 26 seconds. Share the heck out of this!!” No, baby girl. I’m not going to share the heck out of this.
  • She shared a video with me. She explained, “Pay attention to the wording. I’ve seen the videos of hospitals from a journalist on Telegram. The 1 “overrun hospital” had a whopping 18 total cars in the whole parking garage!?! This is ridiculous.

I understand the right to do as we please, but freedom comes with integrity and responsibility this time.
