Thank you, Salsam. My husband’s demeanor wasn’t angry or frustrated for a week. He was even-keeled, and a joy to be in the same room with me. Then his memory shit the bed again. He stopped remembering short term things again. He asked me to put salve on his legs, which I did ten minutes earlier. He swore that he hadn’t eaten all day. Just little things that gave me a heads up to brace myself again.

Mom was in a long term care facility for Alzheimers. Nine patients had COVID at the same time, only two survived. The facility was so careful shielding patients from infected workers. All I can thing of is someone asymptomatic took care of Mom, and that was all it took.

The only thing that gives me peace is knowing she’s with Dad, and not suffering from Alzheimers anymore.
