There’s a Fine Line Between Frugal and Being Cheap
Some people think being frugal a bad thing.
I’ve been out of the dating scene for 25 years, so my thoughts on frugality might be outdated. This is a true story.
I hung out with and dated a variety of men after my divorce.
The only requirements they needed were:
- Don’t remind me of my wasband.
- Be single — not separated from or engaged to another woman.
- Treat me like the princess I am — open doors, pay for our food and drinks, and tell me I’m pretty.
- Have a pulse.
- Don’t forget your wallet when we go on a date.
- Do not be a cheap bastard.
- Make me laugh with your own stories.
I’m kidding on #4. Yeah, that’s the ticket…
My husband and I had a long-distance relationship for almost a year before I moved to Florida. We have friends in Cincinnati that we met online and later in person. In 1997, their home was flooded when the Ohio River crested at 64.7' in downtown Cincinnati. The flood damage to their home was devastating. My heart was broken when I saw photos of their home surrounded by water.
