Your Kids REALLY Don’t Want Your Stuff When You’re Dead
Seriously, find another sucker who does.
My grandma’s home was filled with furniture, knickknacks and treasures that were passed on from generation to generation. I knew when she passed away, those treasures would be divided between Mom, my aunt and uncle. Eventually they would become part of my home and my brothers’, sister’s, and cousins’ homes too.
That’s the way it was. When Mom asked me if I wanted a crystal glass that had her name painted on it, telling her “no thank you” never entered my mind. It was an honor to even be asked if I wanted something from her past while she was still alive.
I used to make stained glass lamps, picture frames, and Christmas decorations. I’m especially proud of the angel bears. If you held them in your hands, you’d be able to feel how smooth the solder is. There’s not a ripple or bump to be found on both sides.
I made two angel bears because I have two daughters. It was my plan to eventually give them the bears when they became adults.
